The FBI and New York City Police Department arrested in the East Village today a suspect who is thought to be the “white glove bandit”
who robbed four Manhattan banks this year. Officials say NYPD detectives and FBI agents arrested Michael McManus around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday while conducting surveillance near Tompkins Square Park in the East village.
McManus allegedly robbed an HSBC Bank on Broadway on Tuesday morning.
Investigators say he showed a gun to the teller and demanded cash.
They also believe he robbed the same branch on January 26 and also hit a Citibank branch on LaGuardia Place twice.
