Dozens of supporters of Lt.-Colonel Shalom Eisner gathered at a rally in his support outside the Defense Ministry on Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv on Tuesday night, the eve of 26 Nissan 5772.
MK (Ichud HaLeumi) Dr. Michael Ben-Ari was on hand, telling the media this case sends a clear message to IDF officers, that if they are assaulted, they should run and not remain and engage the offender. Ben-Ari fears that instead of officers handling such situations, they will send subordinates to un-shoulder the responsibility.
Participants carried signs calling for a citation for Eisner as well as “with terrorists, one should use the trigger and not the butt [of the M-16]”.
