Israel’s media is reporting the hate crime that targeted the Beis Hatavshil located on 2nd Street in Lakewood, New Jersey, a facility that reportedly serves over 100 daily meals to those in need.
When the operators of the chessed project arrived after yomtov, R’ Menachem Cantor and R’ Ze’ev Cohen were horrified to see the damage and hate graffiti perpetrated by anti-Semites who apparently used the yomtov hiatus in operations to target the facility. Swastikas and anti-Jewish slogans were carved into furniture and painted on walls and floors.
According to the daily HaMevaser, local police were summoned and crime scene technicians operated on the scene, hoping to piece together evidence as to the identities of the vandals.
