Hundreds of men packed the St Kilda Town Hall in Melbourne on Sunday to celebrate a Seudas Hodoah.
The communal Seudas Hodoah idea was introduced by Harav Beck Shlita and brought to the community by Kollel Beis Yosef. It gave the opportunity for all those who would like to express their gratitude to Hashem Yisborach to do so.
The event was held after many months of planning and tens of sponsors joining in to ensure the evening will be on a very high standard in all ways, as a befitting way to thank Hashem for all the good he bestows upon us.
The function started with a beautiful wine tasting, lekoved Pesach, sponsored by Benedikt Imports. Along with the wine tasting, there were delicious canapés, with background music played by Yumi Rosenbaum and orchestra with Ari Moskowitz singing.
At 6:30p.m. the crowd sat down to a succulent dinner catered by Kosher Classique.
The event was opened with a kapital Tehillim led by HaRav Beck, thanking Hashem for all the good that He has done and will do b”H in the future. This was followed by a kapital Tehillim recited by HaRav Beirach Yehuda Heimlich from Yerushalayim.
The event was chaired by Reb Mordechai Zalman Fixler.
Speakers included HaRav Beck, the Rosh HaKollel Dayan Katz, and Menahel HaKollel Reb Hershel Fogel.
During the evening there was a special Chazonus feature – “Tal” by Yossele Rosenblatt – performed by Reb Duvid Rubinfed, Ari Moskowitz and Yumi Rosenbaum, along with the orchestra.
Mr Alter Chaim Kinderman got up and publicly praised Hashem for all the good that He has done for him and the crowd then started to dance. Reb Mendel Heimlich concurred with these sentiments and joined in as well. It was a very emotional and inspiring part of the night.
Guest speaker was HaRav Shimen Zev Meizlish shlit”a of New York who spoke about the importance of supporting the Kollel and Torah Study in Australia. He advised people to sign up with monthly partnerships.
The rights to the Benching were auctioned on the night and the successful bidder was Mr Ron Tatarka for the amount of $12,500.
The major sponsors of the night received a special bottle of wine from HaRav Beck.
After benching the crowd danced and enjoyed a delicious dessert.
As the evening concluded, the attendees had the opportunity to receive a Bracha from HaRav Beck.
In the leadup to the evening a special new song “V’al Hakol” was released. CDs were distributed before and on the evening, and the song was featured during the dancing. The single is also available as a free download on Mostly Music.
