Jerusalem: Soccer Fans Accused of Racism and Violence

Several dozen Betar Jerusalem soccer fans on Sunday marched in the capital shouting racist slogans and according to some reports, beat a woman who objected to their actions and words.

According to 50-year-old Reli Margalit, a resident of the capital, she was hit over her head by a participant in the march which began at Sacher Park to Teddy Stadium in the Malcha area of the capital.

She explained to the press that she reacted when she heard “Death to Arabs” and other racist chants, and her words were met with the physical assault. She quickly made an impromptu sign decrying the actions of the group, after which she details the crowd surrounded her and began spitting at her, grabbed the sign, and began hitting her. She admits the assault lasted only a few seconds. She filed an official complaint with police.

Police who escorted the marchers along the route admit to hearing the racist slurs but seems clueless to any assault against anyone, including Margalit.

  1. So when a chareidi spits on a girl in Beis Shemesh, all hell breaks loose , and the entire chareidi population of BS was villified & cursed upon for weeks….
But when soccer fans spit and beat a lady, all is quiet…

The anti chareidim bias is so patently obvious. & it is so pathetic, especially when it is constantly espoused by posters on YWN who are supposedly Chareidi….
