The “Tzaddik from Yavniel”, 73, suffered a massive heart attack in the United States on Shabbos and remains in critical condition, the Israeli media is reporting. The rav is among the choshuvah members of the Breslov kehila and members of the chassidus are being mispallel on his behalf.
Rav Elimelech Fuehrer was consulted regarding the tzaddik’s condition on Shabbos. The Belzer and Gerrer Rebbes Shlita are being kept apprised of the Tzaddik’s condition as are HaGaonim Rav Chaim Kanievsky, Rav David Abuchatzera, Rav Koenig and Rav Berlind Shlita.
According to the limited information available, the tzaddik suffered a major myocardial infarction and surgical intervention was minimally successful, attributing to his critical state at this point and time.
Rishon L’Tzion HaGaon HaRav Moshe Shlomo Amar Shlita reports the rav did indeed suffer a massive heart attack on Shabbos, adding he did not feel well some three weeks ago, at which time he was checked by a physician who gave him a clean bill of health.
The tzibur is asked to be mispallel for Eliezer Shlomo [ben Malka] Shick b’soch kol cholei am yisrael.

Who calls him the “Yavniel tzaddik”?? Since he broke away from Breslov in the mid 1970s in New York and Jerusalem, he has been known by his own followers as Moharash (Moreinu Harav Eliezer Shlome), and by mainstream Breslov as Schick, and sometimes as R. Eliezer Shlome. Who came up with this terminology of the tzaddik of Yavniel?
