Police are requesting to extend the remand of the main B’Chadrei Chareidim website investigation by an additional ten days as the investigation continues. According to officials involved in the case, the investigation reaches far outside of the boundaries of Israel and investigators will also be operating abroad, not mentioning which countries. A number of the five suspects taken into custody have been released with restrictions but the chief suspect, the website’s CEO remains behind bars.
Reports from Israel state the main suspect in the case is being ambiguous and not exactly cooperating with investigators.
The case broke about a week ago, pointing to a major extortion racket in which the website extorted money from victims in return for removing defamatory articles about them appearing on the website.
