The Bank of Palestine (BOP) donated $200,000 for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of 40 houses in Gaza to be done in cooperation with CHF International, according to BOP press release on Saturday.
BOP’s chairman and general manager, Hashim Shawa, and CHF Country Director Lana Abu Hijleh signed the agreement during a ceremony at the BOP headquarters in Ramallah.
Based on the agreement, CHF will start a project which aims to reconstruct and rehabilitate houses that were destroyed during Operation Cast Lead in 2008-2009, the PA’s WAFA news agency reports.
CHF, which the bank statement said will volunteer its part of the work, will execute the project within three months in cooperation with a number of BOP employees, who will also cooperate on voluntary bases.
