Shin Bet Director Nadav Argaman announced on Monday 22 Adar that the current calm is deceptive, as terror cells are working hard to perpetrate an attack, particular those affiliated with Hamas.

In his briefing to the Knesset Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee, Argaman said, “Pesach is nearing and there is no doubt the terror cells, particularly the organized ones, will incite violence and try to perpetrate attacks”.

He told committee members that Hamas and Islamic Jihad cells are working to perpetrate attacks inside Israel every day, and they are working around the clock to prevent them. He added that 16 Israelis and one foreign national were murdered in attacks over the past year.

He spoke of ongoing efforts to ensure Pesach passes without incident and how the agency had to contend with the ‘lone wolf’ attacks that claimed so many lives.
