Modding that omits posts that don’t jive with the Mods views, questions a Mod, or allows for a poster to do much as edit an autocorrect.
On Shabbat I read several books on shalom bayis. I want shalom bayis in the CR. Why put barriers on communication for personal gain? Is this a forum or dictatorship?
I think you may need to rethink your question and your tone. This has been discussed over and over again. You have only a fraction of the whole picture at your disposal, and can only see your own post through your own viewpoint, which means that your assumption as to why things aren’t posted may be far from accurate. And comments that may contradict halacha need to be deleted or questioned for verification. Your accusation of not jiving and personal views is offensive and inaccurate.
March 19, 2017 11:56 am at 11:56 am #1238424JosephParticipantLightbrite isn’t wrong.
March 19, 2017 1:12 pm at 1:12 pm #1238456iacisrmmaParticipantAnd neither is the moderator! I have questioned why my posts were not approved and the moderator answered. I may not agree but understand what the job of the moderator is.
March 19, 2017 1:17 pm at 1:17 pm #1238460YW Moderator-29 👨💻ModeratorThank you iacisrmma.
We have deleted posts were someone wrote some very harsh words of retribution to a poster who may have said something disrespectful to Torah. This guy sent such a hateful scathing post to the mods about our disgusting moderating using personal viewpoints and not supporting Torah or yeshivish views at all etc etc. What he missed was that he had two lines of nivel peh in his original post that couldn’t be put through.
Try assuming you are missing lots of pieces to the story.March 19, 2017 1:37 pm at 1:37 pm #1238465JosephParticipantiac, the mods don’t usually explain their deletion decision. Not that they’re usually wrong for deleting, I’m sure most are good decisions. But lightbrite is correct that often they delete due to it not being aligned with their personal viewpoint.
Also note it very well it’s likely most moderators are not guilty of that but there’s usually no way for posters to know who deleted.
That is 100% false. And it’s a joke to think you can speak about the motive and personal viewpoints of people you don’t know and have never met. Odd concept.
March 19, 2017 2:24 pm at 2:24 pm #1238478iacisrmmaParticipantJoseph: I once wrote a post that was rejected. I wrote the moderator and asked why and he responded directly to me. He pointed out exactly why my post was rejected. I thought I had a valid point but ultimately was shown why it violated CR rules.
March 19, 2017 2:26 pm at 2:26 pm #1238480JosephParticipantAs I said, usually they’re good decisions to have deleted. I’m speaking of the exceptions.
March 19, 2017 3:44 pm at 3:44 pm #1238754Little FroggieParticipantI side with the untiring mods. We nay never know the full extent of their input (hey, that’s what they’re there for – to delete before the rest sees something wrong). And no, I’ve also been on the receiving end of the modding paddle. Quite extensively. It’s just an important and distinct feature that allows us to stay relatively safe and clean.
Four cheers for the Mods!!!!March 19, 2017 4:22 pm at 4:22 pm #1238776☢️ Rand0m3x 🎲Participant

– http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/martial-law-modding/#post-1238316Why does this appear here, but not on other threads/posts?
By the way, it will also say that if it is opened, even if it is not modified or edited
March 19, 2017 4:23 pm at 4:23 pm #1238777☢️ Rand0m3x 🎲ParticipantIt shows up >here< as well, but I’d like to understand why it doesn’t show up on all edited posts.
(The new system which doesn’t allow me to simply add this to my previous post while it’s
waiting for moderation is annoying, but it does let you know whether your post is going
to show up immediately following the post you’re replying to or not.)March 19, 2017 4:24 pm at 4:24 pm #1238779☢️ Rand0m3x 🎲Participant(I have now seen claims that we can’t edit at all anymore. I hope that’s incorrect…)
EDIT: It’s incorrect.
(Another edit: This post was supposedly touched
by Mod-29, but I think I edited over the change.)March 19, 2017 4:27 pm at 4:27 pm #1238784YW Moderator-29 👨💻Moderatorrandomex, post-1238776 says I edited twice and I didn’t. I only entered that one line.
Go figure.
March 19, 2017 4:41 pm at 4:41 pm #1238789☢️ Rand0m3x 🎲ParticipantThere may be a shorter editing window now.
March 19, 2017 5:35 pm at 5:35 pm #1238793☢️ Rand0m3x 🎲ParticipantRegarding those notes, the answer is that you can turn it off (each time you edit).
March 19, 2017 5:56 pm at 5:56 pm #1238814👑RebYidd23ParticipantI have seen plenty of posts here that I know the mods don’t agree with. Though no human being can ever truly be completely unbiased, the mods come pretty close.
March 19, 2017 7:49 pm at 7:49 pm #1238890Lilmod UlelamaidParticipantThe post goes to “Awaiting moderation” as soon as I submit it, so how can I edit it?
Do you mean once it’s posted? I haven’t seen an edit button – can it be edited w/o an edit button?
And how would I know when it’s posted so that I would know that I could edit it?
March 19, 2017 7:57 pm at 7:57 pm #1238895Lilmod UlelamaidParticipantgot it – I checked off “notify me…” so I got an email when it was posted, and now I see the edit button on the top. Cool!
March 20, 2017 12:54 am at 12:54 am #1239062yehudayonaParticipantre OP: The correct word is jibe, and I ain’t jivin’.
