Manhattan: West Side Takes Care of its Own

For most families Pesach is a most wonderful Yom Tov but for people struggling with financial pressures, the Chag can be a very difficult time.

Leaders of the Upper West Side Jewish community, led by the renowned philanthropist Sam Domb, are coordinating special fund to ensure that all community members will have enough to provide kosher meals for their families.

All the community Rabbis have been approached to identify any congregants who need help. This initiative is being coordinated by the West Side COJO and local askonim Shea Schwebel, and Michael Landau. “Sam Domb is a true leader and teacher in the giving of Tzedoko ‘ according to Landau, Chairman of the West Side COJO ” Sam leads by example, whose greatest pleasure is seeing less fortunate Jews being given the dignity of a respectable Yom Tov and getting a Jewish Education”.

Mr Domb hopes that this West Side initiative will encourage other neighborhoods to ensure that their people are taken care of for Pesach.
