At least one other person was arrested as the investigation into an alleged kollel fraud scheme continues. All the suspects in custody are described as chareidi, residents of Beit Shemesh, Yerushalayim and Betar Illit.
It appears the suspects managed to amass a list of hundreds or more people’s identity numbers and other information and listed them with the Ministry of Education as avreichim learning in a kollel. They set up a fictitious kollel to perpetrate the scheme.
According to unconfirmed reports, the scam may have netted the suspects millions of NIS.
It appears one of the ‘students’ received a text message on his phone to report to the kollel for an official inspection. The person had no idea what was going on, but figured out he was involved in some sort of scheme without really knowing what. He eventually went to police and the investigation led to the uncovering of the kollel scam.

It starts with cheating the ” medinah” for the sake of “torah” and then u end up in jeans and handcuffs
Will there be a rally for tzedekah funds to help their legal battle?
#5, you are half correct, it starts with cheating the medinah, half for the sake of Torah and for the sake of their pocket, and they end up frum ganovim with peyos.
