Oomis is a pet name given to me by my son when he got married. It is a form of “Ema,” which is really what I am called by my children. The “oomis” was a joke that stuck. When I needed a Screen Name and couldn’t think of anything in the moment that had not already been taken by someone else, Oomis seemed like one that no one else had claimed as yet.
