Catskills: State Police Arrest Bungalow Burglars

NY State Police have arrested two people in connection with the burglaries of several bungalows in Sullivan County.

Charged were Jeremy Schultz, 33, and Breanna Von Hegel, 16, both of Bethel. They were charged with burglary in the second degree, resisting arrest and possession of burglar’s tools.

On November 24, State Police at Liberty responded to a report of a burglary in process in the town of Thompson. Police and a K-9 unit tracked the suspects into the woods where they fled, leaving behind the proceeds from the burglaries.

A short time later, they were located and arrested in a neighboring bungalow colony.

The investigation revealed they had burglarized numerous bungalows in the area. VHS tapes, cash, clothing and small kitchen appliances were recovered. Both were arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail each.
