Kassam rocket attacks into southern Israel continued yesterday, Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Towards evening, a katyusha rocket was fired at Beersheva. It was intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system.
For the most part, the IDF has been refraining from responding. There was an IAF attack against a rocket launching site around midnight.
While the IDF Homefront Command has ordered a return to regular scheduling, some mayors are unwilling to place their children on the front line, insisting that until the military halts the rocket fire children will not return to school. As such, schools in some areas will be closed today, including Ashdod, Ashkelon, Beersheva, Kiryat Gat and Kiryat Malachi.
