A new poll shows a majority of New Jersey voters think the state is improving, and they appear to be crediting Gov. Chris Christie.
The Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind Poll out Tuesday shows 51 percent of voters surveyed think New Jersey is headed in the right direction, while 39 percent say it’s on the wrong track.
It also shows Christie with a 54 percent approval rating — the highest numbers he’s seen since March 2009.
The poll finds men like Christie more than women do. The Republican’s approval rating among men is 62 percent, while 46 percent of women approve of him.
The telephone survey of 799 registered voters statewide was conducted from Feb. 6-12. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.
