“Ata gibor” means you are a gibor. While Hashem may be the source of gevura, that is not what we are praising him for. The evidence is from the examples we give: rofeh cholim, matir assurim… We don’t say ata gibor, and then speak about Napoleon and ascribe it to Hashem- that, while true, is not the point of that praise.
