Zionism is a hashkafa, not a sociological detail.
I would argue that Aderaba, Zionism is the biggest “detail” to split Torah society (at least in Israel) since the Chassidic/Misnaged divide, and maybe even the Pharisee chumrah of Chulin B’Taharah.
