Liberman on Iran and Syria

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Sunday morning questioned the ability of Western nations to involve themselves in Israel’s security, primarily the issue of a possible military strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Liberman explained that Israel is a “sovereign independent nation”, and as such, Jerusalem will make its own decisions regarding her security, including Iran.

The foreign minister pointed to the continued killing of innocent citizens in Syria, the state of anarchy that exists, explaining if the Western world is incapable of stopping the bloodshed in that country it is questionable if the same countries can involve themselves in Israel’s security matters.

According to foreign media reports, 230 people were killed by government forces on Saturday.

  1. Why does he keep coming out with such comments? Does Netanyahu support him saying such things? If not, who’s the boss? What a chillul H-shem.
