TRAGEDY – Modi’in Illit Girl Niftar After Being Swept Away in Nachal (UPDATED 14:20PM IL)


14:20PM IL: A 7 year old girl has R”L been Niftar from injuries sustained after being swept away in a Nachal. The girl, a resident of Modi’in Illit, was with her father watching the rising river, when she fell in and was swept away.

As YWN ISRAEL reported earlier, she was found approximately an hour later, after an extensive search involving many emergency rescue personnel. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but was R”L Niftar a short while ago.

11:10AM IL: Emergency service personnel are involved in a search for a 7-year-old girl, a resident of Modi’in Illit, who according to her father was swept away in Nachal Modi’in.

An IAF chopper is working overhead in the hope of assisting ground forces. Members of the elite 669 search and rescue unit are doing their utmost to locate the girl, realizing the importance of the time factor due to the rising waters and frigid conditions. Military divers are also working to locate the missing child in the nachal.

12:20PM IL: The missing girl was found and flown by IAF chopper to the trauma center of Tel Hashomer Hospital where she is listed in serious condition. Family members report the search lasted for about an hour.
