Noon Israel Time According to an Israel Radio Reshet Bet weather update, the heavy rains pounding the capital during the morning hours are expected to turn into snow towards evening. Accumulations in Yerushalayim are expected to be between 5-10 centimeters (2-4 inches). The rains will turn to snow as temperatures drop in areas above 700 meters in altitude.
City hall sanitation officials report they are ready and will be operating to keep major vehicular arteries open.
In the meantime, the snowfall that began in the northern Golan Heights, particularly on Mount Hermon, is expected to continue for another 48 hours. Reports from the ski resort stated 50 centimeters (20 inches) have accumulated during the night and the intensity of the storm has increased significantly over the morning hours.

i cant imagine the snow settling because the ground is soaking wet and flooded from the rain this morning – which still hasnt stopped!
Nachum Siegel (JM in the AM) announced that there will be a blizzard in Yerushalayim tonight. We NYers can be knockers. We b”H didn’t have much snow this year.
As everyone knows the seforim say “VAYIGASH” is a NOTRIKUN (abbreviation) read forwards and backwards for: Vav—Friday, Yod-Yihyeh, Gimmel—3rd; Shin—Shevat: is a siman to: “If the sixth day of the week will be the third day of Shevat” . . .
now read the abbreviation backward: Shin-Sheleg, Gimmel-Gadol, Yod- Yihyeh, Vav-V’kor—
So there’s the prediction: if the third of Shevat falls on a Friday, Yershalayim will have lots of snow and it will be cold!
And to think, the commentaries were able to come up with this years before computer codes! 🙂
i don’t think it’s that cold here now to snow
I hope no man nor woman becomes homebound due to inclement weather & hence misses Parshas Zochor.
