President Barack Obama will be in town Thursday to raise money for his 2012 re-election bid at events including a $35,800-a-head dinner and a $10,000-a-head gala.
It will be Obama’s 11th visit here since March.
The president will stop by the home of Michael Smith, the interior designer that first lady Michelle Obama tapped to redecorate parts of the White House.
That event will be co-hosted by Hollywood heavy hitter Harvey Weinstein, HBO co-president Richard Plepler and designer Michael Kors, according to the invitation.
The president’s trip will also include dinner at ABC Kitchen in the Flatiron District, followed by a reception at ABC Carpet & Home, according to published reports.
The fundraisers are the first events that Obama will hold with investment bankers and hedge fund managers since he asked Congress to raise taxes on the rich in next year’s budget.

The campaigner in chief…how nice. The Mid-East could blow up in a heartbeat and his biggest worry is getting his sorry self re-elected.

That is PRECISELY why he is doing all he possibly can to keep Israel from moving on Iran – i.e. he is afraid the consequences of attacking Iran could mess up his number one priority, his re-election plans.
