America Bans MK Ben-Ari

The United States has canceled MK Dr. Michael Ben-Ari’s visa, prohibiting from entering the country. According to US officials, since Ben-Ari was a member of Kach, the party founded by the late Rabbi Meir Kahane HY”D which appears on the US’ terror watch list, he may not enter the country.

Knesset Speaker MK Reuven Rivlin was furious over the State Department decision, explaining “Ben-Ari is a member of the Israeli parliament and represents the Ichud HaLeumi party which is a legal political party in Israel’s political system”.

Responding to the State Department’s decision, Ben-Ari stated, “The American government accepts Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with open arms, one who openly calls for the destruction of Israel, and Abu Mazen who planned the murder of children in Maalot and MK Dr. Ahmed Tibi, who encourages Shahids, but they decided to prevent me from meeting with American Jews and promote and encourage aliyah to Israel claiming I am a terrorist”.

“Now one can understand the blindness of the United States which is incapable of identifying terrorists who threaten the world, those who brought 9/11 upon them”.

  1. He’s 100% correct the US State department is blinded by PC (politically correct) concerns & is not based on reality. Meir Kahana never committed murder nor have his groupies. Yet these other terrorist who have committed murder or represents groups that committed murders are welcomed with open arms.

  2. You are incorrect laytzonay hador omrim when you say “…Yet these other terrorist who have committed murder or represents groups that committed murders are welcomed with open arms.”

This reflects a long and consistent practice on the part of the DOS. Twenty-five years ago it was a hot button topic with regards to the political wing of the IRA.

You may quesation whether Kach is a terrorist group, but the question should not be clouded by emotion. I had relatives who were in the Irgun Tvai Leumi in the 40s, and I think would have supported them then…but still, the reality is that labeling them as “terrorists” is probably proper…certainly the bombing of the King David Hotel in July of 1946 was a “terrost” act…

  3. YonasonW, you’re the one who is incorrect by comparing Meir Kahane to the IRA and to the Irgun both of which committed terrorist acts while he (Kahane) did nothing of the sort. Certainly the people (monsters) mentioned in the article who are allowed into the US are terrorists or involved with terrorist groups. Its all about PC.

  4. to #3 and #5…

It is not correct to confuse the “terrorism” of the Irgun, with the TERRORISM of today.

The meaning of the term has changed.

Terrorists today DAVKA target innocent civilians to instill fear in the civilian population.
The Irgun NEVER targeted civilians. It ONLY targeted the enemy’s MILITARY. Because it was pre-state, obviously the Irgun could not have a uniformed army of their own, but they WERE for all intents and purposes (along with the Palmach) the army of the Jews in Eretz Yisrael.

  5. 1. Rav meir kahane ztl hyd was 100 percent right.2. The irgun were not terrorists the irgun were freedom fighters. They fought bravely fair and square. Man to man, soldier to soldier against the british. Kahane was not a terrorist he just said what was right.
