You know that your going to retire in the near future. If you have any brains, care and concern for the hospital’s patients you’ll search and find the best candidate to replace you. Even with your analogy, unless you assume OS are wicked they would not tell you to use them to perform a surgery that they know they are not experienced enough for and would refer you to an expert in that specific surgery.
