The guests included many prominent rabbonim and admorim as one would expect for the chasnah of a grandson of Tel Aviv Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau Shlita. The chosson was a son of Rav Dovid Lau, chief rabbi of Modi’in.
Some of the dignitaries included Rishon L’Tzion HaGaon HaRav Shlomo Moshe Amar Shlita, HaRav Bakshi Doron Shlita, HaRav Yosef Efrati, Aryeh Deri, Vice Premier Eli Yishai, Minister Ariel Atias, former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, MK Yitzchak Herzog, MK Tzipi Livni, and MK Dalia Itzik.
According to Kikar Shabbat, there was a special moment, when Beersheva Chief Rabbi Yehuda Deri wished Rav Yisrael Meir Lau mazel tov, bringing an end to their longstanding dispute. Since Rav Deri ran unsuccessfully for the Tel Aviv chief rabbinate post, the two had a falling out which now seems to be a thing of the past.
