Dovr, you want to do away with welfare?!
Do you have any idea how this country looked before there was welfare?
Have you ever gone to bed hungry? Really really hungry? And freezing cold?
If you want to do away with- or send off to work- young able bodied lazy good for nothings who are shamelessly taking advantage of the system and living off the benevolence of their hard-working peers, then I hear you.
But wanting to do away with welfare is a seriously bad idea. And not a very Jewish one either.
May we all be zoche to be from the givers and not from the takers. And may we all receive our sustenance directly from the benevolent hand of the One who is zan u’mefarness la’kol.
