B’chasdei Hashem no one was injured or worse as a result of a floor collapse in a Belz cheder on Thursday morning, 16 Shevat 5772.
When the children saw what had taken place prior to their arrival, they ran to notify the principal who in turn summoned emergency services.
According to officials, it appears the integrity of the structure was compromised as a result of illegal digging in the building adjacent to the cheider located at 5 HaAdmor of Belz Street in Bnei Brak. According to inspectors, a preliminary evaluation of the damage pointed to structural damage to the foundation of the cheider building as a result of the illegal excavation on the site of the adjoining kupat cholim.
