It appears the New York Giants don’t think they even need to play Sunday.
The official team website accidentally posted an image Saturday announcing that the Giants had won Super Bowl XLVI — more than 24 hours before the game against the New England Patriots kicks off.
The slick image included photos of several Giants stars — including Eli Manning and Jason Pierre-Paul — celebrating alongside a massive photo of the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
That photo collage, which briefly adorned the front of the team’s site, also provided links allowing fans to buy official Giants Super Bowl champions gear.
The page was only live for a short time before it was taken down.
The gaffe seemed fitting during a week in which the Giants have not lacked for self-confidence.

At the risk of sounding like a greaseball I wonder, as does Lamid Vov Zaddik, why this is being reported on this site?
and this is Yeshivah world news why ?!?!?!?!?!?
I’m not wondering as a “greasball” or as a “lamed vov tzadik” why this story is posted. But if YWN is reporting sports news I’d like to also read about the Yanks (NY Yankees) especially when they make the playoffs or the world series.

To those who question why such stories are reported here on YWN, please grow. The super bowl has become a cultural icon of America and the world. It transcends just about every other news event and will be discussed Monday morning in every office and shul among yidden and goyim. Most of us don’t live in a cave and rely on YWN editors to provide a balanced and thoughtful coverage of the day’s events affecting frum yidden. Having said that, GO GIANTS!!

No one is trying to be a frummie here… it’s just that when you open YWN you would/should expect nothing less than news reflecting the Jewish hood news, and this is definitely out of that line..
