What a word, what a feeling.
A slap in the face,
A punch to the gut.
Total feeling of discard,
Of dismissal, of uncaring.
All the trust thrown away
In just a few words
As he threw the daggers,
Unaware of the danger/impact.
I heard each door slam
Closing the hallway opened
Between us over time
And as the stabs continued
They approached ever closer
Each addition, repetition
Deeper, harder
Twisting in my stomach
Until it went too far
