Bracing myself
I take a deep breath,
I need to be strong,
to escape death.
I wipe of the frown,
dry my teary eyes,
as I enter the room,
I’m in utter disguise.
I try to seem solid,
so brave and so bold,
I need to support others,
their hand I must hold.
Yet it doesn’t stay there,
it sinks deep inside,
I’m feeling secure now,
encouragement can provide.
