It is raining everywhere today, Wednesday, Baruch Hashem. The rains started during the night and are expected to continue throughout the day.
Tens of millimeters of rainfall have been registered during the morning hours, including Modi’in (46mm), Ashdod (40mm), Tel Aviv (38mm), Jerusalem (12mm), Ariel (37mm), Ramat HaSharon (32mm), and Haifa (3mm).
According to meteorologists, a record dating back to the British Mandate in January 1947 was broken in January 2012, recording 29 days of rainfall. The previous record was 25 days of rainfall in that January.
It may however be too early for celebration as the Kinneret, the nation’s primary source of potable water, is still over four meters under full level.

Non-the-less, it wasn’t so long ago that we were way below the red line after YEARS of droughts. LOTS to celebrate about now!
The Kinneret is back up to the lower red line, after having been way too close to the black line! Baruch Hashem it is rising, and will hopefully continue to rise with more rain and melting snow coming down from the Chermon.
