Chareidim Among Those Nabbed in Bnei Brak Casino Raid

Police officials report agents were quite surprised when an illegal casino was raided earlier this week in Bnei Brak, seeing a number of chareidim among those taking part in the illegal activities.

Dozens of police took part in the major operation in 68 Jabotinsky Street, apparently after police gathered sufficient reliable intelligence information pointing to the illegal operation.

Sadly, it appears a number of males clad in chareidi garb were among those taken into custody in the raid.

(Note: If you know someone who has a gambling problem, please get them the appropiate help)

  1. Y the surprise?
Charedim are humans with strengths and weaknesses. Let us not despair of help that is available for those needed and lead them in that direction.

  2. Lemaiseh just cause they are dressed as a chareidi doesn’t make them chareidi cause real chareidim don’t gamble

  3. What a Chillul Hashem!
Everyone is kvetching over the tzaros befalling Klal Yisroel, asking why, while some are trying to mend their ways – On the same page as the report of this horrible chillul Hashem, is the tragic report of the petirah of a young kallah. Nachpsah Dracheinu Vnachkorah Vnoshuva el Hashem. Perhaps some Chareidi Rabbonim should start checking up, mussaring, and beating up on their own.

  4. would anybody know why i can only post replies to news items and i cant post anything in the coffee room? when i try posting something to a conversation in the coffee room, the “reply” link just isnt a link for some reason..help anyone?

  5. If there are a few guys playing cards for money is that the end of the world? True, a gambling problem is very serious, but is it so bad if someone played poker once or twice? There was no ‘casino’ there, it was probably a poker house, but even if it was, is that so bad? I’m lost on this one and would appreciate help understanding this.

  6. Gambling, Isn’t that like a “Chinese Auction” on steroids?
Shame they weren’t giving a percentage to a Yeshiva because then it would have been okay. Right?

  7. Anyone who is surprised by this is naïve. Atlantic City & Las Vegas casinos are known to be frequented by “Chareidi looking” people. Of course anyone who does frequent these establishments is obviously by definition NOT Chareidi rather they just dress like Chareidim for cultural purposes.
