Wednesday Morning News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


Another price tag hate crime. Three cars were set ablaze and graffiti in a mosque in the Shomron village of Dir Istiya. Graffiti said “Gal Aryeh Yosef”.

** “If I see you I will kill you, you anti-Semitic Jew hater” was the threat received by Yair Lapid on his Facebook page. The person who made the threat gives his name at Itzik Chen.

** Sharp drop in temperatures and precipitation in the north, working to the center and south towards night. Heavy snowfall reported on Mount Hermon on Wednesday morning. A stormy cold and wet Wednesday night and Thursday is forecasted.

10:45: Rocks were thrown at a bus near Beit Omar, south of Gush Etzion. No injuries. Damage reported.

** Jerusalem police arrested another male, 22 on Wednesday morning suspected of involvement in the IDF Ephraim Command break-in. Five of the many suspects arrested to date were indicted. All the others have been released.

** A paratrooper was arrested and remanded by a military court for his alleged role in settler violence against the IDF.

13:25: Former Chief Sephardi Rabbi Eliyahu Bakshi Doron Shlita collapsed during an event in Yerushalayim. He was transported to Shaare Zedek Medical Center. His condition is unknown at this time.
