Mitt Romney continues to command the lead among likely Republican voters in New Hampshire the day before the state’s primary, according to a new poll released Monday.
The former Massachusetts governor won 41 percent of likely Republican voters surveyed, according to the WMUR poll. Ron Paul earned second place with 17 percent of the vote.
The results are consistent with other recent New Hampshire polls.
Rick Santorum and Jon Huntsman are tied for third place with 11 percent, despite the fact that Huntsman has been campaigning almost exclusively in New Hampshire while Santorum focused on Iowa leading up to his near-win of the Iowa caucus vote last Tuesday.
Newt Gingrich is in fourth place with 8 percent and Rick Perry earned 1 percent of the vote, putting him in the same tier as Michele Bachmann who suspended her presidential campaign last week.
The poll was taken between Jan. 5 and 8. According to the survey, 44 percent of voters surveyed called themselves decided.
