apy: It can also depend on the perceived quality of the kid and how badly the yeshiva wants him… I’ve known kids who have applied to the same mesivta where one was treated royally, was called a few days after his farher with his acceptance, etc and the other kid was treated very perfunctorily and got his letter a few weeks later- because they had a few GPA points different on their report cards. Seminaries are at least egalitarian about that sort of thing- they want the best kids, but they treat everyone basically the same.
