The price of The New York Times has gone up — by 50 cents.
On city newsstands, the Times now costs $2.50 for the Monday through Saturday editions.
That’s the same price printed on papers sold across the country.
However, Times spokeswoman Eileen Murphy says the big Sunday paper still costs the same: $5 in the New York area and $6 in the rest of the country. And the cost of digital subscriptions remains the same.
Home delivery is up by about 4 percent.
It’s the paper’s first increase in more than two years. The Times declined to comment on the reason or how much revenue will be generated.
The change kicked in on Monday. Home delivery subscribers received a notice about six weeks ago.

What a waste of money! I know a lot of places where toilet paper is cheaper, No need to buy the Times .
NYT: “All the news that’s fit to line the trash can.”
Any chance they’ll use the extra money to go back to having comprehensive unbiased reporting of “all the news that’s fit to print” (that than politically correct news that is neither fit nor accurate)
Another reason not to buy the Times.
