R’ Fuchs Blames the Press for his Predicament

When Shlomo Fuchs arrived at the Jerusalem District Court on erev Shabbos, were he was charged with “harassment”, he told reporters that the media is responsible for his predicament.

YWN-ISRAEL reported Fuchs allegedly spat at and verbally assaulted a female soldier on board a bus when she refused his demand that she move to the rear of the bus.

Fuchs maintains his innocence, explaining that the media bias against chareidim have left him defending himself for something that never occurred.

While there are eyewitnesses backing the stories of Fuchs and the alleged victim, police opted to believe the soldier and the wheels of justice are moving at a blinding speed in the case, having already filed a criminal indictment against the avreich. Fuchs refuses to discuss the entire matter, simply stating that it is most unfortunate that a chareidi yid cannot live his life in peace in Eretz Yisrael.

Fuchs, the father of 12, was released with restrictions as was reported earlier.

  1. Could be!?!

IOW a person is never to blame just the MEDIA is at fault. I have no responsibility over my actions is an anti-Torah ideal.

  2. Not only the police – THERE IS AN INDICTMENT – that means the court has decided that the evidence suggests, more likely than not that he is guilty.

“Fuchs refuses to discuss the entire matter, simply stating that it is most unfortunate that a chareidi yid cannot live his life in peace in Eretz Yisrael.” — Does he even realized the hypocritical nature of his statement given recent events and what he’s charged with?

Unfortunately Fuchs only now belatedly understands the value of silence — how ironic, had he only been quiet earlier!

  3. The Satmar Rebbe z”l has said many years ago that a time will come when an “Ehrlicher Yid” won’t be able to live in Eretz Yisroel.

  4. to the holy #2 i have a question for you. do you know what happened? do you ever side with chareidim or do you always believe the anti chareidi garbage which has been proven again and again whether it pertained to autopsies or kevarim they have shown a total willingness to offend every religious sensibility.

  5. To Y_dont_U_research_b4_speaking,

Apparently you do not follow your own advice. It takes no standard of proof at all to indict someone. It is proof of absolutely nothing. I say this from the experience of sitting on a grand jury. I know Israel’s justice system is different from the US, but if anything it is even easier to procure an indictment there.

There are witnesses supporting his story, but it is not adavntageous for the court system to believe them because of the media bias. If you do not believe that the media influence (direct and/or indirect) is behind indictments, you have a much bigger issue than just not doing research “b4” speaking.

  6. To simon01

I assume that the Satmar Rebbe was referring to Naama Margolis and the rest of the terrorized children in RBS

  7. Simon01
The Satmar Rebbe would not condone spitting nivul peh and violence. One who acts this way is so far from true frumkiet but you wouldn’t understand that.

Its all a matter of numbers.
R’ Fuchs has already admitted to engaging with the woman and asking her to move and speaking with her inappropriately and he has shown his inability to hold his tongue — if it bothered him so much HE should have moved. — all that is undisputed facts

on the other side: if you chose not to believe the woman’s story then you are being motzei shem rah on
    a) the chayelet
    b) the bus driver who called the police
    c) the police who responded and filed a report
    d) the witnesses on the bus who support the chayelet
    e) the prosecutor who suggested the indictment
    f) the court that indicted fuchs
    g) the entire Israeli justice system which hinges on all these actors working together in unison and telling the truth

So I’m inclined to NOT be motzei shem rah on the women and NOT be motzeim shem rah on fuchs that he’s lying about engaging the woman. — that’s how I read the story – your version seems to assume the worst about a dozen or so different individuals

  9. #8 – Your presumtions with your long laundry list unfortunately makes you believe that that is proof. However, all that is not proof. Therefore, according to halacha, you can not come to your own conclusions; rather you are mechuyav to be don this ben Torah leachaf zechus.

My own brother, many years ago was arrested and driven to the Russian Compound (Jerusalem jail) on Shabbos. He was accused of throwing stones at two police officers and they had a witness corroborating their accusation. Eventually, he was charged, convicted, recorded in police records, and reported in the newspapers. He never did it! He was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

FYI, I was in a courtroom and the judge announced a recess. I went into the hall and overheard the prosecutor talking to a defendent. He said, “We all know police officers all lie, you just can’t say that in a courtroom”!

As your username states, WHY DON’T YOU RESEARCH BEFORE SPEAKING!!!
