OU Upset That Condi Consulted With The Peanut Man

carter.thumbnail.jpgThe Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, expressed deep concern today over news reports that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has consulted with former president, Jimmy Carter, in preparing for the upcoming Israeli-Palestinian peace talks in Annapolis.

President Carter’s most recent book, “Peace, Not Apartheid” was widely condemned as biased by a wide spectrum of the American Jewish community and by friends of Israel of all faiths – as reported HERE on YW.

UOJCA Director of Public Policy Nathan Diament stated:

“Rather than outreach to someone who always finds Israel at fault and always excuses each and every Palestinian failure, including terrorism and the targeting of civilians, it is better to find Palestinian leadership willing to step up and deliver peace, not violence.

To date, as National Security Adviser and Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice has held firm to clear principles – that the U.S. must stand with her democratic allies in the face of Islamic terrorists – which led to her being a stalwart supporter of Israel. We pray she remains committed to these principles even today and would distance herself from those who reject them.”

  1. I dun get it, why is the OU upset? Who was Condi going to confer with Baruch Marzel or some chief rabbi? The plan is to destroy and slice Israel into salami pieces and throw those scraps to the dogs…

  2. As number 2 said, we all know the plan is to finally send Israel back to the cease-fire lines of 1949, including re-partitioning Yerushalayim, since Carter, as well as the “International Community” believes that Israel is in violation of international law for Occupying anything beyond those lines.

  3. what is the o-u complaining about?

they were there at the white when oslo was signed, despite the oppposition of the ENTIRE orthodox jewish community, including the VAST majority of their own member shuls!

and they not only did not oppose the ridiculous gaza retreat (yeah, it was called a “nesigah”, not a retreat, but everyone knew what it was), they actually came out with a statement that it was ok!

only when their own members complained, did they start taking another side (a little bit, at least)
