Speaking to Kol Chai Radio on Tuesday night, MK Rabbi Yisrael Eichler decried the increasing wave of anti-chareidi media reports, blaming the left-wing controlled media for keeping the hate campaign on the front page of the national agenda.
The veteran journalist and MK made no apologies, but lashed out at those who continue to point an accusing finger at the nation’s chareidi tzibur when they are well-aware the recent hooliganism is the result of the actions of a few, a small minority, people who identify themselves with the chareidi community but in no way are they representative of a chareidi lifestyle or values.
Rav Eichler spoke of the remarks made by his rebbe, the Belzer Rebbe Shlita, who condemned the acts of violence, stating that this is not the way we spread the light of Torah.
MK Eichler added that he is in touch with MK Moshe Gafne, and they are monitoring the situation, stating they are studying laws and seeking methods by which they can combat the current trend, adding they will use any and all legitimate means available to them towards ending the current atmosphere of hate and incitement, concluding that if they are left with no alternative but pulling out of the coalition government and collapsing it, then this is what they will do.

as my late father of blessed memory used to say action speaks louder then words.

well then maybe you should march through that neighborhood with women in between to show that you will not put up with this garbage.
Eichler is a great man
he is a real fellow!
Finaly we have someone who stands up like a man and says it the way it is. WE are all babies for giving fuel to the leftist Sonei Torah who made a big shpiel of ONE girl being spit at by ONE sick person. In all Yeshivishe communities it is known that women don’t stand in front of the Bais Medrash. It is not only extremest that do this.
To gauge how far down we went, our #1 yosse says: that WE should march with women in between – It became a Mitzvah to have Ta’aruvos!
In most Kehilos, (including Yekes)Women do not even go to the cemetary by a Levaya – not to bring to Ta’aruvos.
Chaimst, are you saying it’s wrong for a 7-year-old girl to walk to her all-girls school, that she deserved to be spat on because she “dared” walk on the sidewalk where a man stood. What “chutzpah” she had!
And it’s not ONE girl being spat on and only ONE sick person. To quote Rav Breuer, zt”l, “We would welcome a campaign to link a drive for ‘Glatt Kosher’ with an equally intensive one for ‘Glatt Yoshor.'”
Some politician wants the girl school building for his cheider. So he gets his fools to become superfrum and try drive the children away.
This is not that stupid. They want the non fanatic jews to move out of the area and then they can claim it for themselves. There is method in their madness.

please lets not bring yekes in to this .
the bottom line is women have just as much right to the streets as men and it is our obligation to have them protected
This has been going on for at least 6 years. It will stop when the Charadi leadership bands together and tells the Zealots that they have to stop the spitting, screaming, intimidation, harassement and stop making up new chomorot that has no Torah bases.
The Charadi leadership can no longer stand on the sidelines. They need to speak loudly or the world will assume that the charadim are of equal mind as the zealots.
chaimst:
1-Walking down the street is not the same as standing in front of the Bais Medrash.
2-Substitute any avairah you wish in place of “being spit at…” Try “one bucher eating traif” or “one Rebbe being mechalel Shabbos” and see how it sounds.
3-The argument of the left-wind media keeping the issue alive misses the point that no one from the community should be spitting on a child. The rebuttal that it is “only a few hooligans” rings hollow when after hearing it too many times. Either the members of the community listen to their Rebbeim or they don’t; either the Rebbeim speak out forcefully or they don’t.
4-Like it or not, The Charadi leadership is giving the impression of condoning this type of behavior. By not unequivocally condemning it, they allow this to fester. By threatening to bring down the gov’t and seeking means to end the “current atmosphere of hate and incitement,” they miss the point: their followers are acting in a hateful way and adding fuel to the fire.
