Belgian Mayor Apologizes For Antwerp’s Role In WW2

belgium flag.jpgThe mayor of the Belgian city of Antwerp apologized on Sunday to the Jewish community for the city government’s role during WWII. In a pre-recorded video message, Mayor Patrick Janssens offered the apologies on behalf of the city council to a congress on the Nazi extermination of Jews during the Second World War.

Recent research shows that Antwerp officials and police were actively collaborating with the Nazi occupation at that time – as reported HERE on YW.
