i don’t believe that for a second. In my family we give gelt because that is what i was taught is right. I grew up receiving gelt as well. Having said that, if you have 5 kids and not enough cash to make a “gift” of it, buying sale priced toys is an option for survival. If you were never taught that presents were wrong, it would make perfect sense.
