I hear that there is a secret anti-gefilte group amongst Ashkenazim…. They can’t express their sentiments in public for fear of reprisals….
Once or twice in history a group got together and attempted to do away with the gefilte altogether. Once they dressed up as Indians and hijacked a fishing boat, throwing all the gefilte fish overboard into the Harbor. Sadly, the attempt failed. They weren’t caught – anti-gefiltes are much smarter than ordinary people – but the gefilte fish adapted well to the new environment and what followed was an abundance of gefilte fish instead of a shortage.
Nowadays they can’t get enough momentum to do anything about the situation, because the real staunch anti-gefiltes just go and marry Sephardim. Kids these days just have no principles. And so, it is the Sephardim who are at least partly responsible for quelling the anti-gefilte fish movement.
