Israel: Former General Says Explosions At Iranian Nuke Sites Were Not Accidents

Officials said in a report Wednesday that a mysterious explosion at an Iranian nuclear facility two days ago was no accident.

The eyebrow-raising remarks surfaced in a Times of London story reporting that satellite images show smoke billowing from the uranium enrichment facility in the city of Isfahan.

“There aren’t many coincidences,” retired Major-General Giora Eiland told Israel’s army radio, noting that it was the second attack on an Iranian nuclear site in a month.

“When there are so many events, there is probably some sort of guiding hand, though perhaps it’s the hand of God,” said Eiland, who is Israel’s former national security chief.

Israeli intelligence honcho Dan Meridor suggested the guiding hand might be closer to home — and fanned speculation that an undeclared war against Iran was already under way.

“There are countries who impose economic sanctions and there are countries who act in other ways in dealing with the Iranian nuclear threat,” he said.

  1. If they knew anything, they wouldn’t be talking. And since the can therefore be assumed to know nothing, why pay attention to them.

Once you are talking about secret operations, there are any number of suspects including Israel, the United States, the Sunni Moslem states (especially Saudi Arabia) and indeed, anyone else who might fund a nuclear Iran to be a problem.

And perhaps in 120 years we’ll find out (note that some of the “secret” documents on the start of World War I are still kept secret).

  2. Obviously this Israeli isn’t one of the smart ones. Smart ones would keep their big mouths SHUT, no matter who did it!!

  3. He’s retired so he he’s not privy to that information anymore. He’s just speculating. And Mark Levin- first try becoming a General and seeing what it takes before you insult the intelligence of one.
