Thursday Morning News Briefs From Eretz Yisrael


** Two passengers were lightly injured in a rock-throwing attack against a bus in Netanya during the morning hours. The victims were treated and released from a local hospital. Police do not seem to have a lead as to the identities of the attackers.

** PA leader Abbas met in Cairo with Hamas chief Khaled Meshal as they seek a mutually acceptable formula for a unity government coalition.

** American Embassy officials have advised all citizens to leave Syria immediately.

** Two Egyptian border policemen were killed along the border on Wednesday night, apparently be Bedouin drug smugglers. The IDF is investigating if there may be a connection between that incident and a pursuit of drug smugglers along the border by Golani Brigade soldiers.
