Thanks for answering my question, yossi and deiyezooger. I had a class at the Chabad Learning Centre last night and I did ask the Rabbi the same question. He said that of course I can watch from my balcony. He said it would even add to the joy of Shabbat – lots of extra lights. I personally didn’t think that there would be anything wrong if I watched, but, of course, personal opinion doesn’t count. I think I will take this opportunity to wish all of my fellow Canadian posters a happy Canada Day. Enjoy your day off work – it is very nice that it falls on a Friday this year, giving a lot of people a 3 day weekend.
