Mysterious Blast Rocks Lebanon During the Night

According to media reports, Hizbullah terrorists closed down an area about 12 kilometers (7 miles) from Metula following a powerful explosion, which Israeli officials suspect may have been a Hizbullah munitions storage facility.

According to a report in the Lebanese Daily Star, the powerful blast rocked the area shortly after midnight, only giving a general area of the blast without being too specific. Hizbullah forces prevented Lebanese army troops from accessing the areas, sealing the area down. There are reports that at least two people were killed one being a senior Hizbullah commander.

When asked to comment on the explosion, UNIFIL peacekeeping force commanders told the media they have no idea regarding the cause of the explosion.

In a related matter, Minister of Homefront Affairs Matan Vilnai told the media during a visit to the north on Tuesday, November 22nd, that Israel is aware of the fact that a confrontation along the northern border is possible, adding everything possible is being done to prepare for such an eventuality.

It’s nice to know that UNIFIL is doing their job! 🙁

  2. Do not expect any news source, Arab or Israeli, to be especially honest about this. One can’t hide an explosion that big. Otherwise, assume that anyone with facts on the matter is not about to share them with anyone who will report them in a place YWN, or us the readers, will see.

  3. “which Israeli officials suspect may have been a Hizbullah munitions storage facility.”
