IDF Returns Gush Katif Mezuzos

IDF officials earlier in the week delivered a number of boxes containing mezuzos to residents of Ein Tzurim, the home of many former residents of communities of Gush Katif. The mezuzos that were affixed to the rooms and entrances of homes in the Gaza communities were delivered in boxes to the residents. The former Gaza residents are working to identify them by their outer casing, seeking to find the rightful owners of the holy scrolls.

Residents are asking what took so long and why now, after 6.5 years since the government of Ariel Sharon ousted them from their homes along with residents of northern Shomron communities. They also question what else the army has been hiding from them since the expulsion.

These questions remain unanswered at present.

  1. How kind of the IDF. This shows that in spite of the bad press they received when they kindly escorted the unruly residents of Gush Katif from their homes in order that we should enjoy peace with our dear neighbors in Gaza, the IDF are really a swell group of fellows for returning the mezzuzahs to there rightful owners. Kol HaKavod to the IDF for using this opportunity for hasheves avaida b’rabbim.
