goq – tmj is a condition involving the jaw. many ppl have it. some worse than others. there are many causes – teeth grinding, stress, poor jaw alignment, etc. Basically you hear and feel a clicking when opening and/or closing your mouth. Can be quite painful. Sometimes it can prevent one from opening or closing their mouth because it kind of gets stuck in a certain position.

elik – i can’t go to the class as i don’t live in ny. but thanks for the advice, and at least i can check on dr. sarno’s method as msseeker mentioned – i can buy the book.
