The Planning Board will hear an application to demolish the Chateau Grand — again.Planners earlier this month ruled that the Board of Adjustment should hear the plan, but the Planning Board attorney has now said the board should give the developer a chance to plead its case first. The new hearing date is April 4.Kevin Kielt, Lakewood’s planning and engineering administrator, said the board’s attorney and the developer’s attorney agreed the planning board should hear the full proposal before deciding how to handle it.At its last meeting, the board debated only whether the proposal — 66 town houses and a community center — was too close to Route 9. The board never got into technical issues about the proposal.
