Minister of Science Rabbi Dr. Daniel Hershkowitz over recent days visited Amona, one of the communities slated for destruction by the Netanyahu administration.
During his visit to the area, the minister met with Avi Ro’eh, who heads the Binyamin Regional Council, as well as a number of representatives of area communities.
The minister told them of an urgent meeting with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, in which they discussed reports the administration plans to wipe out Amona, Givat Assaf and the Ulpana neighborhood in Beit El. He stated the prime minister was attentive and empathetic; explaining he feels the prime minister understands the gravity of the situation and is searching for solutions that will avoid the need to oust the residents and destroy the communities.
Hershkowitz added that he raises the issue of the plight of the communities in every relevant government forum, adding he does not plan to drop the subject. He explained that while there are ministers who side with them and share their feeling of building Eretz Yisrael, there is a decision from the High Court of Justice and this cannot be ignored, concluding there is no reason to give up hope at this time.

After the horror of the first Amona pogrom (YES, Pogrom!)by the government (and similar episodes against other “outposts”) a repetition at Amona, chalila, will just bring us one big step closer to a civil war. A civil war that will have been precipitated by the government.
